Why I Don’t Celebrate New Year’s Eve

So...here we are...January 2019 has come and gone.  I have often wondered what percentage of people make their “resolutions” on New Year’s Eve only to break them before the end of the month.  I decided to do a bit of research on the topic and found that 60% of us admit to making resolutions but only about 8% are successful.  When I read that statistic, it really struck a chord with me.  I have found myself making lofty goals (usually about weight) that were usually unrealistic and unhealthy.  Many times I would sign up to work night shift on New Year’s Eve, so I wouldn’t be reminded of my “failures” for the past year.       As I have gotten older and health has become a greater concern for me, I realize that there…
